September Nature Conservancy Projects
Rebecca Garrett, Northern Arizona Program Coordinator for The Nature Conservancy writes and says:
"Hello Master Naturalists! There are some projects planned at Hart Prairie that would benefit from your expertise. Please let me know if you would be willing to help."
--Volunteer Day September 25: we will be getting ready for a prescribed burn in the fall. Your help in gathering fuels, but leaving some larger pieces for habitat and bio-mass for the soil is needed. Pack a lunch and enjoy a fun and productive day with TNC staff.
--Seed Collection Week of September 7 (next week!): We are going to burn the large pile in the meadow and obliterate the road going through the meadow. To successfully rehabilitate the area, we need to replant with seeds from the property. Flagstaff Native Plant and Seed will be overseeing the work. We don't have a day pinned down yet, but let me know if you would like to participate.
