
Rain did not dampen spirited efforts of folks at Page Springs Hatchery last Saturday, 4 Dec 04. Sponsored by Northern Arizona Audubon Society and Unisource, trail and habitat projects kept everyone warm.

Technically, this event took place at Bubbling Ponds, just west of Page Springs. This is a warm water hatchery fed by hot springs which keep the water at a steady 70 degrees Fahrenheit. It is operated by AZ Fish and Game, which also participated in this work day.

Here are Yavapai County teens doing community service by clearing and spreading chips on a birding trail surrounded by a grand cottonwood bosque.

While AZFG provided a skiploader and other pieces, some major equipment like this chipper, were rented. The chipper was kept busy all day by continuous efforts like those below.
