Help Needed on the ground in Grand Canyon

National Park Service Shield Emblem
I have an urgent note from Chad Olson, raptor biologist and bottle washer at the Grand Canyon Science Center, seeking immediate participation from Master Naturalists to assist in studies in the field at the canyon.

(Note: this is prime time in the canyon, weatherwise.)
(Note also the per diem.)

Hello everyone,

This is a request for volunteers to help out on a backcountry study. Essentially we need people (desperately and immediately) to help pack equipment around in the backcountry. The upshot is volunteers get to help out trapping small mammals, collect information on recreational impacts, get free camping in some great areas, AND volunteers get a per diem of $20-$25 a day. Most trips are 4-6 days in length, and require able hikers who don't mind carrying a relatively heavy pack in and out of the canyon. Interested parties can contact Sophie Osborn at 928-638-7904 or
cell 928-606-7670. You can also email her at Sophie_Osborne@nps.gov

Thanks,
Chad Olson
