On Thursday, May 19th, presentations will be given by representatives from Arizona Game & Fish on the reintroduction efforts with Black-Footed Ferrets near Seligman and Mexican Wolves in eastern Arizona.
This CEU class is worth 3 credits toward fulfilling your annual requirement of 6 hours per year.
In the first presentation, Carrie King, Field Coordinator, will discuss efforts to reintroduce the most endangered mammal in North America. No...I'm not talking about the Mexican wolf. Navajos refer to this animal as Dló'ii łizhinígíí,(black prairie-dog-getter) the Hualapai call it Na-math, the rest of us know this predator as the Black-Footed Ferret.

The second part of our Arizona Game & Fish double header will feature the persistent efforts to reintroduce Mexican Wolf in Arizona and New Mexico. This has not been an easy sell for agency personnel or for involved volunteers. Dan Groebner, of the Arizona Game and Fish will give a full account of trevails encountered since this project was conceived and describe the necessary role this predator plays in our ecosystems.
In addition, Terra and Perry Crampton will be providing an update on North Rim reintroduction efforts of this once-common native canid.
