New Resource for Master Naturalists

Windstar Institute logo
Please visit the new web site that has been added to this blog down in the Conservation and Land Management Links section. Called the "Windstar Wildlife Institute" , we might have it in the Master Naturalist Resources section, but the Institute and its classes are in Maryland, and the material has a backyard garden emphasis with a distinctly east coast-piedmont feel.
Nonetheless, this is a very attractive site, and it is loaded with information that is of interest and usefulness to any Master Naturalist. It includes a free weekly e-Magazine, and a blog, and extensive galleries, etc.
The Institute offers a distance-learning type course in garden and backyard wildlife habitats, divided into modules, with on-line video material, reading ,and tests.
Founder and President Tom Patrick has brought the Institute a long way since its inception in 1986. Both this web site and e-learning course are new this year.
So, give it a look at http://www.windstar.org .
