3,700 Trees will be planted, fertilized, and watered
3,000 Aspen seedlings ~ 1-ft high
700 small Aspen trees to be randomly dispersed among seedlings
Site will be prepared in advance of this event (planting holes dug and irrigation system installed).
A Donation will be made to the Flagstaff Arboretum in exchange for volunteered labor planting services.
The LDW Ranch is a private 140-acre property, at 8,000 feet, with a 20-acre lake with trophy Rainbow trout, in the White Mountains near Escudilla Peak, along the New Mexico/Arizona border, about 30 minutes from Alpine or Luna. Detailed map will be provided.
The owners, Debbie and Wayne Johnson, will provide lodging at Tal-Wi-Wi Lodge in Alpine or in Springerville if Tal-Wi-Wi is full for those who desire not to camp at the ranch. Lunches will be provided each day, and also, a barbecue for all will be held at the ranch Saturday evening.
Fishing is allowed with a license; however, as this is a managed lake property, fishing will be barbless hook, catch and release; and all caught fish should be measured and logged. Only Two Fish per Day may be kept for eating, including any injured fish that cannot be returned to the lake. Any tagged fish caught, must be logged and returned to the lake immediately.
