If you enjoy working with children and nature, then Willow Bend is the place for you! As a Teaching Volunteer, you will interact directly with students, both indoors and outdoors, helping them connect with the environment and create a sense of place. As a non-profit, Willow Bend greatly relies on the generosity of our volunteers, and your time helps us reach over 17,000 community contacts each year! To help prepare our Teaching Volunteers for this exciting and fulfilling opportunity, we are offering two training sessions.
If you are interested in becoming a Teaching Volunteer, please join us for both of the following training sessions:
Refreshments will be provided, including lunch for the September 29th session. Both sessions are useful for new and returning volunteers.
Session I: Saturday, September 9th, 9am-12noon: “Understanding Child Development”
Session II: Friday, September 29th, 9am-2pm: “What we teach: the Discovery Room and Field Trips”
Please RSVP to Sapna Sopori (sapna@willowbendcenter.org) for Session I by September 6th, and Session II by September 25th.
Please join Willow Bend and take the pledge to support environmental education!!!!
