
The National Forest Management Act of 1976 requires each National Forest to have a master plan and to update it periodically. Coconino National Forest is now entering into the public portion of that cycle. It will hold its first round of public meetings in October and November, the second round in January and March. The CNF will then allow itself a year to revise and refine the plan, and then have a comment period in April thru September 2008. The final plan is not expected to be signed off until March 2009.
