The Four Corners Outdoor Education School needs you! The Bioregional Outdoor Education Project (BOEP) is a place based education program focusing on the Colorado Plateau. Through a paid certification program, teachers undergo training in outdoor, environmental, place based education and then implement the ideas into their own classrooms. Each of the four corners state has a Regional Coordinator and intern to assist teachers through the process.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND PAY?
• Work with the Arizona Regional Coordinator to support teachers completing their certification.
• Visit participating schools twice a month.
• Teach and take part in fun outdoor and environmental education lessons focusing on place based education.
• Document teacher progress: observations, school visit log, certification requirements, etc.
• Assist with occasional BOEP workshops, and annual conference.
Typical month will most likely include 4 ten hour days plus prep time working from your own home. Occasional meetings, trainings, conferences, workshops will occur some months. Intern must have own car, and is required to travel. Experience in education is preferable. Can start immediately!
This is a PART TIME position (60-80 hours each month) that pays a $500/month stipend plus per diem and mileage on travel days. The schedule is flexible but does include travel.
