Pot-Luck Festivus Recognition Party Dec05 photo by Wade Albrecht
A Holiday for the Rest of Us.

Attention all Master Naturalist & Watershed Steward Alumni! If you are part of the old guard (nothing personal); that is to say a Certified Arizona Master Naturalist or AZ MN/MWS from the years of 2003 to 2005, come join the final session of this years class for a gala celebration, where we will be recognizing the volunteer contributions of the the class of 2005 with the annual "donning of the vests" ceremony...akin to the running of the bulls.

This will be a pot-luck party beginning at 3 pm on Thursday, December 14th. Bring whatever food-like substance you choose; I'll be supplying beverages and light snacks. Any other ideas to usher in the Festivus season in accordance with cultural beliefs are welcomed. The "feats of strength" venue has been changed, but the "airing of the grievances" will go on as planned.

Traditional Festivus Fare:
meat loaf or spaghetti in a red sauce

The origins of Festivus:
Frank Costanza: Many Christmases ago, I went to buy a doll for my son. I reached for the last one they had, but so did another man. As I rained blows upon him, I realized there had to be another way.
Cosmo Kramer: What happened to the doll?
Frank Costanza: It was destroyed. But out of that a new holiday was born … a Festivus for the rest of us!
Cosmo Kramer: That must've been some kind of doll.
Frank Costanza: She was.

Let the miracle of Festivus be with us all.
