Antelope Habitat & Migration Area Improvement on Anderson Mesa

Diablo Trust logo
Dear friends, this is a call for volunteers to assist in Antelope Habitat improvement on Anderson Mesa, part of the Diablo Trust land area, this Saturday, June 9th.

What: Antelope Habitat & Migration Area Improvement on Anderson Mesa

When: Saturday, June 9, 2007, meeting at 8am at the Ranger Station on Lake Mary Road, or at 8:45 at the AAF campsite, details below.

Why: "A thousand acre grassland restoration project funded by the Arizona Game & Fish Department and the Arizona Antelope Foundation is nearing

completion. All of the piƱon-juniper has been laid down and over half has been burned. Rick Miller of the Flagstaff office of the Arizona Game & Fish Department has organized a large group of interns and volunteers to plant native seeds in the ashes ahead of the summer monsoons. When completed this will be another 1000 acres of restored Antelope Habitat & Migration Area on Diablo Trust, thanks to the Arizona Game & Fish Department and the Arizona Antelope Foundation." - Jack Metzger
