Population summaries from the United Nations Population Division indicate by that by 2030 there will be another 1.75 billion urban residents, resulting in new urban land cover representing a total area the size of California. This assumes that 1) humankind doesn't take any rational steps and 2) Mother Nature doesn't make any natural response.
