Master Naturalists and master Watershed Stewards, you are invited to attend:
The 10th Annual Southwest Vegetation Management Association Conference
October 24-26, 2007 at the Radisson Suites Hotel,
6555 East Speedway Blvd, Tucson, Arizona.
For the full story, go to our webpage at http://www.swvma.org .
This year’s theme is:
"KEEPING THE WEST WILD"
Wednesday there will be a lunchtime banquet, split-out sessions for WMA’s to meet, then report back to the group, and a members’ reception in the evening.
On Thursday, there will be two concurrent sessions – one has some outdoor hands-on presentations, and also some scientific, technical presentations. Some other papers will discuss the social and community aspects of managing weed infestations. The other session is a full day workshop on sweet resinbush, an invasive plant with populations scattered across the state.
Friday will be a field trip to Sabino Canyon and Mount Lemmon.
You can use this conference to obtain the CEU’s you need to keep your Az. Dept of Ag and/or SPCC Herbicide Applicator certifications current. See the attached Draft Agenda for more details on papers. There will also be a number of posters and vendor booths.
We’ve worked hard to make this a program that people from many perspectives will find exciting.
If you can find the time, we hope to see you in October!
