Squirreltail Seed Collection at Colton House

USDA photo of Squirreltail.jpg

Spend a crisp autumn day collecting squirreltail seeds around the Museum of Northern Arizona Colton House on Friday, Nov. 2nd from 10 AM to 4 PM. Colton House will be open and spiced cider and snacks will be provided. This volunteer opportunity is offered by the newly created Native Plant Materials program operating out of the Hilltop building.

Collecting bags will be provided. However, folks with more sensitive hands may want to bring either light gardening gloves or scissors.

Come meet the new program coordinator and work along with MNA volunteers as they increase the seed stock needed for their project and accomplish some much needed "weeding" around one of the site's most treasured buildings.
