PlayaVista.JPGOn April 10th 2009, a team of ten master's in finance and MBA students from the real estate development class went with professor Edward Dyl to Los Angeles. In Los Angeles, we had the pleasure of meeting Steve Soboroff, Chairman and CEO of Playa Vista, and his team. During the course of our one day trip to L.A., Steve played an excellent host as we toured Playa Vista, a successful mixed-use development that Steve and his team built.

Playa Vista was formerly the site of Howard Hughes' aircraft plant, runway and hangars. Situated between Marina del Rey and Westchester and minutes from LAX, the charming Westside and the beach, Playa Vista is the first new community to be established on the Westside of L.A. in over 50 years. This new community balances needed housing, neighborhood shopping, office space, parks and habitat protection on Los Angeles' Westside.

At Playa Vista, we found a community that includes homes built for today's lifestyles. The homes include a diverse collection of residences from detached single-family homes, town homes and condominiums to urban-style lofts--all with state-of-the-art amenities. Businesses, parks, and planned neighborhood retail are all within easy walking distance. Residents park in underground garages to make the streets more open and inviting.

We were impressed by the diversity of the community and charmed by the fact that the development took the natural environment into consideration. The development is also home to the Los Angeles Clippers Practice Facility and thanks to Steve, we had the good fortune to sneak in for a peek at where the stars train. To cap off the entire Playa Vista experience, all of us got a ride within the development in Steve's new Tesla Roadster, a high performance electric sports car which goes from 0-60mph in 3.9 seconds. And I can safely say on behalf of the class, it was great!

Overall it was a memorable experience for everyone. It was enriching to hear Steve talk about his vision for Playa Vista and how he made it work, his personal beliefs and most importantly the A-Z traits of successful people. On behalf of the class, I will like to express my gratitude to Steve for this exhilarating experience.

Sounds like you guys had an awesome trip. I'd kill for a ride in one of those Teslas.

well written post!

It is just amazing to ride Tesla Roadster the first entirely electric car, which can take more than 200 miles with one charge. I found this and many secrets about that amazing vehicle at http://teslaroadstercost.co.cc

Tesla Roadster is not really made by Tesla ideas, it's just a simple hydrogen car, and to make that hydrogen they burn more fuel than it would be burn if the car was going on petrol!

Proffesor Steve Soboroff have been asked to continue his work and furtherance of the goals for the 19th Games in 2013; hopefully Ms. Monosson will join him to continue to raise the level of awareness of the world to this incredible Jewish event and experience. And I wish him best luck for best journey in his high performance electric sports car.

Looks like schools are paying more attention to real estate community

Kudos for posting such a informative blog. Your weblog happens to be not just knowledgeable but also very creative too. There are a limited number of people who are capable of create not so easy content that creatively. We look forward to much more !!

What a great trip. Tesla Roadster is a awesome electric sport car. Wish I could afford one.:)

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass' favor.

I want to enroll in a distance mba program but I am not sure that the program reputation is as good as traditional business school. Am I wrong? I really want to jumpstart my career with mba so it is really important.

Hi. I happened upon your website while I was looking for something completely unrelated. While I don't agree with everything you said we do have similar viewpoints for the most part. I've bookmarked your site and will visit again in the near future to see what you are writing about in 2010!

Sounds like fun, the Tesla Roadster is a fantasticelectric sport car
