Plant and Seed Exchange Sprouts Freebies

The plant and seed exchange Tuesday at the Extension Office was crowded with plants and planters. Folks came from as far as Munds Park with handfuls of seed packets and flats of seedlings to trade or give away.

Considerable numbers of vegetable and herbal starts, including many heirloom varieties, were available. The timing was good, considering that the time to put young plants out is imminent in the high country.
Also available were many perennial seedlings, including some native flowers and ground covers, including the equivalent of a full flat of sweet woodruff.
