Olivia White Hospice Garden Project
On one of our last Thursdays in the garden we had a small crew of regulars (Linda Guarino, Leslie Penick, Vicki Goodwin, Joe Harte, and Nancy Palmer). Our time was spent planting bulbs, cleaning up pine tree debris, spreading mulch, placing bricks and watering the garden. We thought we would finish for the season, but because we had a small crew we will be there at least one more week weather permitting.
Our agenda for the last week includes:
Finishing planting bulbs, putting away a few more pots, spreading mulch, deadheading and cleaning our tools. We will water again unless the weather changes.
Come join us for our last workday. We will be in the garden from 9am-12pm. Park in the 1st Congregational Church lot on Turquoise just past Switzer Canyon. Water and snacks are provided.
I have found, through years of practice, that people garden in order to make
something grow; to interact with nature; to share, to find sanctuary, to heal,
to honor the earth, to leave a mark. Through gardening, we feel whole
as we make our personal work of art upon our land.
