Olivia White Hospice Garden Project
My final day in the garden except for watering as needed, was spent filling bird feeders, putting some pots away, and adding a few cinder blocks to the compost pile. The Soroptomist International Mountain Morning were in the garden to finish their project. They completed a brick pathway from the sidewalk to our new arbor bench. The bricks were donated earlier this year by members and friends of the Soroptomists. Plans are to invite donors to the garden in the spring to see the work their donations made possible.
For those interested in being part of the Olivia White Garden Project, monthly meetings for planning for 2009 will begin in January. Work in the garden will begin in April, weather permitting. Thank you to all who helped in the garden, donated, or just supported our efforts there. It is a labor of love for all of us who participate. If you want to be included on our e-mail list for 2009, please e-mail Loni Shapiro at maxmaddy@infomagic.net.
"November comes
And November goes,
With the last red berries
And the first white snows.
With night coming early,
And dawn coming late,
And ice in the bucket
And frost by the gate.
The fires burn
And the kettles sing,
And earth sinks to rest
Until next spring."

Thanks,
Loni Shapiro
