2009 Earth Day Flagstaff

Flagstaff EARTH DAY 2009-Community Celebration!
The Flagstaff community is gearing up to celebrate Earth Day 2009 - Save the Date! The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 18th from 11:30 AM till 4:00 PM on the South Lawn of Flagstaff's City Hall. Service projects will take place prior to the community celebration.
The Sustainability Commission Earth Day Taskforce is now accepting registration for Earth Day vendors and exhibitors. All vendors and exhibitors must be registered before March 10th, 2009.
Earth Day 2008 was a huge success! The event kicked off with a community service filled-morning by Flagstaff community members. The afternoon event attracted over 1,500 attendees, exhibited more than 50 local organizations and vendors, included presentations from dozens of speakers. Flagstaff Earth Day 2009 will be bigger and better! The event this year will feature live bands, speakers and dozens of informational booths, vendors and exhibitors.
Flagstaff 2009 Earth Day-Community Service Projects.
On April 18th 2009, volunteers will participate in Green up Flagstaff Service Projects throughout Flagstaff. Volunteers should report to the service project location by 8:30 AM to begin the fun. The Service Projects will conclude at 11:00 AM. Projects include: Sinclair Wash Clean-up, Southside Beautification, Southside Community Garden Clean-up, Garden Clean-up at Olivia White Hospice Home, Adopt-an-Avenue Spring Cleaning, Sunnyside Beautification, and Colton Community Youth Garden. All volunteers should bring water, sun protection, gloves and close toed shoes to the projects
