Olivia White Hospice Home Workday 5/7/09

On Thursday we had a large crew in the garden busy doing repairs, clean-up, and watering. Linda Guarino and Nancy Palmer spent most of the day working on the drip system - checking and replacing lines. David Hockman planted a rose donated by Hattie Braun and dug up a tree to put in a pot. We are restructuring the area around the doorway which gets little sun and is a high water user with sloping contours to a drain. It was covered with rock from Landscape Connection and the tree that was in a corner is potted and annual shade loving plants will be added in pots surrounding. Hattie Braun donated some river rock she wanted to get rid of for landscape beauty.

Vicki Goodwin returned and worked on deadheading our Inferno Strip. Crys Wells also worked on deadheading. Marcia Lamkin worked in the Faerie Garden and on the Birdhouse Trellis. Barbara Phillips spent her time watering all the front gardens.

Come join us for our regular Thursday workday. Things are never dull and you can learn a great deal about high elevation gardening from the variety of master gardeners and the many trees, shrubs and plants we have. You can come for any or all of the scheduled time. Bring a hat, sun screen, gloves and any tools you like to work with (we also have tools and gloves but our supply is limitied). Parking is not allowed at the home. Park at the 1st Congregation Church on Turquoise just past Switzer Canyon Drive.

The world's favorite season is the spring. All things seem possible in May.
