Campus Walking-Tour Podcast
Take a stroll through campus at your own pace, with personal guides, no less.
UA Life & Work Connections and the Learning Technologies Center have created, under the auspices of the Well University Partnership, the first in a series of podcast walking tours for the campus. The Olive Tree Walk guides walkers on a .8 mile loop though some of the most beautiful and lush parts of campus.
Here's how it works: download the MP3 audio file to your iPod or other MP3 player. You can also print out and take along a map of the route.
Starting in the breezeway of the Student Union, you begin walking north. Start playing the audio tour guide as you begin walking and you will be guided west down James E. Rogers Way, south through the olive grove by the Arizona State Museum and then back to the Union via University Ave. going by Old Main.
As the walk progresses, the audio discusses the trees and plants that you see along the way, provides historical information on some of the architecture that you pass and provides tips and hints on walking for a healthy lifestyle.
Depending on how fast you walk, the tour should take between 12 and 15 minutes. You may have to pause the audio file if the narration gets ahead of where you are on the walk.
Don’t forget to wear comfortable shoes!
Information on other campus walks is available. More information on podcasting is also available.
