Saying goodbye to old friend POLIS
It was a good run but after more than ten years, POLIS (Project for Online Instructional Support) will no longer be supported as an instructional tool.

POLIS service began in 1996. POLIS use has dramatically declined in the past two years and newer instructional applications are being utilized within the UA campus community. All current materials on POLIS will be moved to a permanent archive, but if instructors need to retrieve material for use in another application, we strongly recommend it be copied before the cutoff date of May 16, 2008.
As an alternative to POLIS, we suggest using Desire2Learn (D2L), which allows the University to provide continuous, high-quality resources for teaching and learning. D2L has more features and a well-supported, robust architecture. To learn more or to request a D2L course site, please visit help.d2l.arizona.edu.
We encourage instructors to consider this an opportunity to re-design and re-tool their courses. Instructional designers and technologists at the Learning Technologies Center (LTC) are available for individual consultations about re-design and to assist in the transition to D2L. Please contact us with questions or make an appointment by sending email to d2l@email.arizona.edu.
