A New Name, Expanded Service
Learning Technology Services (LTS) is the new name chosen to represent the combination of the Learning Technologies Center (LTC) and Research Computing. The LTC, located in room 337 of the Computer Center building, remains the place to go for all faculty and staff interested in learning/teaching and research assistance. Our new name reflects an emphasis on service to the University community.
LTS is expanding services in three main areas: Instructional, Research Computing and Production Services. Instructional Services provides consulting to campus on assessment and evaluation of instruction using technological strategies, and on instructional design strategies and techniques. High quality support for applications such as Blogs, Podcasting, Desire2Learn, OLE and Breeze is being expanded as well.
Research Computing Services provides support for campus on the High Performance Computing (HPC) systems, Scientific Visualization, Statistical Consulting and the Access Grid. Working with Instructional Services personnel, they will also help to integrate research material into the teaching environment.
Production Services continues to assist the campus in the creation of audio and video content, database and programming, graphic design, website creation and usability assessment.
By integrating these three areas we can offer a diverse and complete set of services for the campus and to the educational community in Southern Arizona through our outreach programs. For more information on LTS please check out our website or call 626-2621 to setup an appointment to schedule a tour of our facilities.
