The April 2007 issue of Latino Perspectives Magazine includes "Window to the Past: UA's 'Through Our Parents' Eyes' Continues to Gather Recollections," by Georgann Yara. The article is the April Heritage section contribution. Ms. Yara had called one day on the phone and chatted about the site's origins, purpose and contributions.

Nose Art depicts sexy woman hands behind head looking pensive with slogan

As noted on Military Aircraft Nose Art: An American Tradition's Korean War page, nose art created during the Korean War depicted the images of unclothed women in more revealing terms than nose art from WW II.

On April 7th, John T. Barnes sent four images from photos shot by his father MSgt John C. Barnes at Ashiya Field, Japan, ~1952. MSgt Barnes was stationed at Ashiya Field from 1950 until the unit was transferred to Ardmore AFB in 1955. Visit our newly created page to see all four images.

Last night I finished reading Going Back to Bisbee and today I noticed that the book has been named ONEBOOKAZ's title for April 2007.

Going Back to Bisbee was written by UA Regents Professor Dr. Richard Shelton, who teaches in the UA's English department. Published by the UA Press in 1992, Going Back to Bisbee received the Western States Book Award for Creative Nonfiction. Visit the Press' online catalog for a description of the book. Anyone who has made the trip from Tucson to Bisbee, visited Tombstone, hiked in the region's mountains or trekked along the San Pedro will enjoy the book.
