Tallia Cahoon grew up in Ruby, Arizona, during the mining town's heyday. Tallia has been leading tours of Ruby for Pima Community College as part of its Day Tours program. Several years ago, PCC produced a 12 minute video and we have everyone's permission to digitize it for Through Our Parents' Eyes.
Join Tallia Cahoon on a tour of the ghost town of Ruby, Arizona. She shares tales and history of the mine, the school house, the jail and more. Presented in partnership with Pima Community College's Community Education Series. The video is available as QuickTime streaming video.

Dear Sir or Ms:
Thank you very much for allowing anyone who is interested to view the video about Ruby, AZ. I would like to thank Tallia Cahoon for sharing her memories of Ruby and my thanks to PCC for producing this video!
I lived in sothern Arizona for 8 years and I last saw Ruby in 1977. Something about Ruby has always fascinated me and I hope to see the little town again someday! In fact, the first underground mine I ever entered was the Idaho mine, right down the road from Ruby.
This may seem strange, but I never knew the Montana mine was in the town of Ruby until I returned to CT in 1977. I always though the Montana was in the hills surrounding the town.
Thanks again,
David Prodell
Thank you so much for the video of Ruby. My Family (Nelson) consisting of John Nelson, Sandra Nelson, Rebecca, Melody and John III, lived in Ruby for two years in 1972 and 1973. This seems to be the most memorial part of my childrens lives. It was rugged without no lights and running water, but it taught my children that you can survive without the modern conviences. We would fish in the first pond for fish and the children would take a bath in a galvanized tub in the house. We lived in the upper house,on the hill that has the three houses. We miss Ruby to this day, and some day would like to go back and relive the memories.
