More WWII Images Added

If you've visited the Military Aircraft Nose Art website to see the new images sent by Corporal Crump in Australia, the take a look at this new entry on the Through Our Parents' Eyes blog. I found the story of the missing/identified Jolly Rogers' crew pretty interesting.

Adobe Flex

screenshot of OCLC's holiday card using Adobe Flex

Is anyone familiar with Adobe Flex? Take a look at this page featuring OCLC's holiday greeting using Adobe Flex. You need to mouseover the pie chart to display the stats and if you click a section of the pie chart, it shows the search results below. I think this is very cool. OCLC wrote that the "card is designed to be a fun way to show off a new technology from Adobe called Flex. Users can interact with a tag cloud which will show statistical results in a pie chart (and clickiing on pieces of the pie chart -- these will cause displays of queries into WorldCat.org, WorldCat Identities, and Dewey Browser to appear)."

EDUCAUSE Podcast series

I was just browsing over the topics in EDUCAUSE's Podcast series and there seems to quite a variety of topics - something for everyone. For example, "Implementing, Supporting, and Maintaining Sakai" and "The Access Management Puzzle - Putting the Pieces Together"should appeal to programmers/developers. Those interested in processes and procedures and developing best practices will want to listen to "Things I’ve Screwed Up—and How!" and Brian L. Hawkins, founding president and CEO of EDUCAUSE, sharing some important lessons learned from his nearly 40-year career in higher education regarding management, leadership, and his professional life. Check it and subscribe if interested.
